Historic Hood River
Swimming Pen

Notes
Here’s a nice swimming picture for a hot day. This is a good perspective to see the scale of the beginner swimming pen at Koberg Beach. Most images make it seem much larger than it actually was. You can see the graduated pools so new swimmers could start in a shallow contained area, and work their way up to an area with water over their heads. If this was anything like where I learned to swim, the different groups would have had clever names. I think it was “Guppies” and “Whales” on the lake where I learned.

Impressive to catch a diver mid-flight.
Really doesn’t look deep enough for a high-dive like that!
With the other photographer in the foreground, it’s as if the photographer was placing themselves in the scene.

You can easily see Dock Grade going down the White Salmon bluff.
