Notes

I believe that’s Ella May Davidson on the left. She and her friends are wearing garb which seems appropriate to our current weather.

Hmmm….Ella is usually the photographer, but then once in a while she shows up in the photo.

I wonder where they are? Sandy soil.

The notes on the negative sleeve book indicate a couple of the women were photographers, so we're never sure who took them. I'll have to take a look to see if this one is mentioned in her notes.

The Historic Col. River Gorge Calendar June picture is of Ella May Davidson and her photographer friends sitting on porch of Mosier train depot in 1915. That picture may have come from your collection, Arthur, and if so are any more of the women identified? Do you know anymore about this group of photographers?

Would that be this photo? https://mcusercontent.com/0bb2e3120244d6eea722560c9/images/970b1b0e-75e5-10fb-f195-ae2a53116838.jpg

Yes, that's the one. Has it appeared earlier on this site? I'm not seeing any comments. Do you know any more about the group?

I'm sure they would have appreciated the development of the Jantzen Bathing Suit patented in 1921, by Hood River's own Carl C. Jantzen. See Findagrave.com Memorial 51364794 for a biography.

Cecilia, the image of their Mosier trip is here: http://historichoodriver.com/index.php?showimage=448. We don't have a list of the people, but the negative notes indicate the trip was on April 30, 1913.

Sorry, I had the photo from the Mosier newsletter.
