Did your mother always remind you or, in the case of girls, ton ask the chaperones to dance. My mother thought it was the polite thing to do, and that the chaperones would appre iate it. I wonder if they did, or if they said to themselves, "Dang! Here comes that gawky Parsons girl to ask me to dance with her!" I remember my date David Jacob –HRHS Class of ’58– manfully steering our dean of girls Mary Howell around the gym floor under the crepe paper streamers.
