Notes

The Hood River News archives include some relatively recent digital information on CD-ROM optical discs. This is from a disk labeled “2003 Sports” with a file name indicating it is from Little League “Nationals”. These boys should be in their late 20s now. How about some names?

The National part would stand for the all-star team they were on. Hood River used to send two teams from each age group. One would be named Nationals, and the other Americans. I know a few of the folks in here. Top left is Justin Frazier, and below him kneeling is his son Dalton. The coach next to Justin is Jeff McNerney and his son Eric is standing in front of Justin. I know there's a couple more in there, but the boys are just young enough not to quite recognize them.

Is not the man on the far right one of Don Walker's sons, known as “Bubba”?

Yes that's Bubba on the right. I believe his son Cody is in the orange Stadleman Fruit jersey in the back. Cody threw in the Division III world series at Linfield when they won the national championship.

The second adult from the right is Andre Young. His son Grant is in front of him in green.
