Historic Hood River
Sketchy

Notes
Someone’s put a bit of effort (emphasis on “bit”) to fashion a creek crossing out of a tree trunk extending over the water. The “safety line” is made from two ropes spliced together, with two anchors which don’t look very sturdy. I think the safety line is more to build confidence than to actually prevent a fall.
This is from the Seagraves Collection, which also included this image from last week, as well as this image of Parkdale, this image of a steam donkey, as we as this and this great logging images.
Marilyn
Well, compared to some of the ways I’ve had to cross rivers while hiking, that looks downright substantial.
