“Six to One”

This image from the Mason Magill Collection is titled “Six to One” and dated 1905. We know from the caption on the reverse the “one” is Martin Dragseth, and the “six” are Nettie Gleason, Lulu Hunt, Miss Cronkite, Mildred Mark, Mable Riddell, and Allie Mark.
We know from this issue of The Hood River Glacier Dragseth arrived in Hood River in 1901, and he traveled to Cloud Cap Inn with the Masons and Magills. We know from this HHR post Mabel Riddell was the Principal of Pine Grove School in 1905. We also saw her along with Nettie Gleason in this post. Lulu Hunt, Nettie Gleason and Dragseth were present at a surprise party it the Mason’s house in this 1905 article, where they played the game “Flinch.” Both of the Marks, Lulu Hunt and Dragseth were involved in the Pine Grove Grange. All of which goes to show everyone in Pine Grove knew everyone else in Pine Grove in 1905.
We even met Martin Dragseth’s mother-in law in this post.

Arthur….correction in the first paragraph. Probably should read Martin Dragseth.
Martin immigrated from Norway and he didn’t marry any of those lovely ladies. He married Anna Wagner from Clackamas. Anna passed away in 1946. Martin evidently remained widowed, living on his fruit farm and passed away in 1962.
