Introducing…Timewinder Tales! Much like Cemetery Tales before, viewers will experience the past through a live theatrical performance, but here at the museum instead of the cemetery. Local actors will again portray historic characters from Hood River’s colorful history, sharing the fascinating details of their lives in first-person.
For Timewinder Tales 2023, the characters and stories will be related to the theme of built environments and architecture. The performance will include stories from Galen Yallup, a Yakama elder, Albert Sutton, a famed architect who left his mark on Hood River, Mona Bell Hill and Elsie “Babe” Tenney, two interesting and colorful women who lived in the Gorge and had connections to the people and buildings here, and Angel Reyes, a Mexican man who first came here as a farm worker with the Braceros program and whose family has strong roots here today.
Tickets $20 per person.
