Notes
The S.J. LaFrance home was at the SE corner of Second and Oak. We’ve seen it in some very old views such as this one. Based on the heights of the trees, I’d say the images were taken at roughly the same time.

S. A. LaFrance was a member of what was known as the "Mansfield Pacific Company." A group of fourteen families that came from New York and Pennsylvania (a few from other places) that settled in Hood River in 1875. His wife was Eleanor Smith of one of the other families that were in this group.

Interesting to have two different angles of the LaFrance home, so impressed with Arthur and a system that can come up with these. Impressed also with Charlott’s research, information and knowledge, is this from home, library or the museum?

My first thought was it was the same fence as in that blue photo that we had long ago when Arthur first started this project.
I think it is the same front yard.

Here, there and everywhere. I come from a family that retained a lot of the old history around here……………….My Dad was a treasure trove of history of the Columbia River Gorge area………My great-grandfather wrote a lot down over the years. He had a column in the newspaper at one time……
