Interesting to see the true shoreline, pre-Dalles dam.

Stayed at the Lyle Hotel and crossed on the Lyle-Rowena ferry before The Dalles Dam.
This was when we could stop on the shoulder at the birds nest lookout, have to walk down to see it now..

Kenn– if you look closely there is a "No Parking" sign by the lookout, even back at this early date!
Kyle– the negative is roughly postcard sized. That was a popular format back then. People could have their prints prepared on postcard stock to send one-of-a-kind postcards to family and friends. I believe Albert Kollas was a professional photographer, so he may have sold some of these images.
Longshot
This area would be in the backwater of Bonneville Dam today. The water level doesn’t look to be that much different from today’s normal pool level.

That is flooding laws of the current homes that are between the two Meyer perks.
