Notes
Of course not all the stars and starlets to grace the stage at the Rialto were members of traveling troupes. This Fred Donnerberg photo of a 1928 production of “Robin Hood” has some familiar Hood River family names in its cast:
- W.N. Byars…………..Robin Hood
- Gladys Gilbert………Maid Marian
- Tovyo Annala……….Sheriff of Nottingham
- Albert Case………….Little John
- Evelyn Brune……….Allen Adale
- Edna Coulter………..Annabelle
- Forrest Moe…………Scarlet
- James F. Fletcher….Friar Tuck
- Ed Beck………………Sir Guy
- Julia Coe……………..Dame Durden

Amazing how much work went into the sets and costuming. A great number of Hood Riverites of that era were theatrically and musically inclined. No t.v., so these types of production was always great fun entertainment. Somewhat the fore runner of Lions Follies of our time.
Gladys Lee (Reavis) Gilbert was the wife of Franklin Gilbert.
I think Toyvo should read Toivo Annalla. He was known as Tommy Annala.
Edna (Ragsdale) Coulter was naturally the wife of Norvil Coulter who had the Ford dealership.
Forrest Moe was very much into music. An orchardist in the Odell area he also sand with a quartet in that area.
Julia (Angenstein) Coe was the wife of George Parker Coe.
Connie
Did anyone else notice the guy on the right – behind the bars?
Charlott
Didn’t notice him. Must have been "Old King John’s" dungeon.
