I ran into someone from our local Pacific Power office the other day who told me how much they enjoy Alva Day photos and anything Reddy Kilowatt related. What could be better than this? Reddy Kilowatt goes country for the Hood River Rodeo in 1947! We’ve seen plenty of pictures of the rodeo before, which I believe was sponsored by Pacific Power.
Reddy will be 100 next March. I wonder if any celebrations are planned?

I have been going through 1952 news clippings for Klickitat County. I don’t remember Reddy Kilowatt, but there is a lot of discussion about electricity.
What we take for granted today, was a huge topic of discussion and progress in the late 1940’s early 1950’s.

For 3 years in the 1950’s, I lived just half a block from the PP&L Office. Over that time, I saw countless displays in their front offie window and Reddy Kilowatt was alway in there somewhere.
