Historic Hood River
This image is captioned, “Herman Kresse and Mr. Lowery, Real Fishermen.” Herman Kresse was owner of Kresse Drug Store and Hood River mayor through the Great Depression. Based on this image I suspect Mr. Lowery was Constable or Police Chief.
This is a staged photo, as Clark Lowery was the state game warden.
He was a Canadian who came to the U. S. and became a citizen.
This photo is definitely taken right there by the Kresse Drug Store.
