We haven’t seen any railroad pictures for a while. Alva Day took this one in 1949 when they were repairing a washout in the Powerdale pipeline which had swept some railcars in to the river. This shows how they got the cars clear of the river.

    Named “the big hook”. There is an operating one at APMA but I believe it is diesel, Arlen?

    a steamer Kenn….in todays world UP contracts with a Lebanon OR firm, Rick Franklin, do their wreck “pickups”….currently in north Portland near Barnes Yard working a derailment…..
