I used to sit in Paris Fair and look at Butterick and McCalls sewing patterns, but I didn’t have to sit on one of those stools.
I can’t remember if the floor was carpeted, but it wasn’t wooden boards.
Look at the bolts of fabric! That must have been a paradise for a seamstress.

The Klickitat County Historical Society has a new website. Following in the steps of Arthur.

They have partnered with the Goldendale Library to scan and digitize photos, making them available online.

Washington State’s Rural Heritage organization does a nice job enabling local groups to add content to this statewide database. Good on the Goldendale Library and the Klickitat County Historical Society for populating it so nicely. I’ve been advocating for Oregon to do something to help communities preserve their heritage for a while. Unfortunately for now we have to build everything locally, and depend on fate to preserve the digital archive beyond the current generation.
