Historic Hood River
Parade Time!
7-3-2024

Notes
Hope you’re all ready for the July 4th festivities tomorrow. If I’m not mistaken we’re looking at frequent HHR commenters Paul and Maria Kollas in Paul’s Model A parading in 2008. We’ve also seen many images by Paul’s dad, Joe Kollas, over the years.
The kid with the bucket reminds me that parade participants used to throw candy for kids in the crowd to run and grab. That was stopped a couple of years ago due to safety concerns.

WAAAM should have a nice showing of antique automobiles once again in tomorrows parade.
I expect the L-Birds to also fly over the parade route.
With warm weather expected, hopefully some of the older cars do not overheat as creeping along does not create much air flow through the radiator.

My Grandpa drove a Model A back in the 1940’s.

The little girl on the left with the red bandana is totally concerned with the candy about to be run over by the
Model A. Can see why they had to discontinue the practice. Some children would not have the maturity to not run out there to rescue that prize.

Paul and Maria are wonderful people.

They threw candy all over the place today!
