I think this packing house is in Odell, though I’ll admit they all look alike to me.
The photo was taken in 1932, and says P. Bucklin on the reverse. Either Percy Bucklin took it or owned it at one time.
Looks like everyone wanted to keep their cars under the overhang. Perhaps it was raining, or perhaps their were angry birds an the area.

Percy Bucklin no doubt took the picture as this building was owned and operated by Apple Growers Association, which is now Diamond Fruit. The sign says "Hood River Apples" but don’t think there was any company,at least, that I know of by that name.
This building is still there and in use by Diamond Fruit. When I was a teen ager they also packed cherries in the west end of this building which would face A.G.A.Road. The eastern end faces Odell Highway.

Fruit packing houses sure aren’t very esthetically attractive.
But, when they are in operation they are a good sign of productivity.

Thanks Jim. The notes on this image are from at least three different people. The date was written with a ballpoint pen so it was not contemporaneous

Hard to believe it was Percy Bucklin.. He was on the board of commissioners when I was working for the county in the 70’s Guess he could have been a kid.

Percy was born in1899, so that would have made him 31 in 1930 and he passed away in 1977.
