Historic Hood River
Pacific Power Work Crew
11-17-2023

Notes
This is another great Alva Day view of a Pacific Power work crew. I can’t be sure exactly what they are doing, but there is a pump of some sort off to the right, their trusty pickup truck and trailer, with horses in the distance. I think this is from the early 1920s.
Alva Day really was a master of capturing these everyday work pictures.

The wood structure on the right appears to be on skids, maybe to be pulled by horses? Maybe the pump was delivered on that skid? Maybe the power crew is there to connect up the motor for the pump? Just guesses.

They are building a skid for that large centrifuge water pump.
Curious what is under the tarp just on the other side of the pump.
Nice early wire trailer! Before horizontal mounted spools.
I assembled modern utility trailers at HD in odell.
