The photo in the center looks like it’s taken on the Washington side, west of Cook Hill, maybe the mouth of the Little White Salmon? Does anyone have a better idea of where it was taken?

That’s correct Melody. The log flume ended at the base of the Little White Salmon. Log rafts were pulled to Viento by a tug.

L.E. is up fixing meals for over 200 fire fighters on the Cougar Fire. Hopefully when her life slows down a little she will tell us more about many of these people. In the meantime, strength to her. I so appreciate her research and edification to us on our unknown history. I have learned so much from her posts.

Nels….thanks for the compliments. They are much appreciated, but maybe a little exaggerated. Everyone here contributes so much and I have learned so much about the area since Arthur started this project.
The first name in this photo that I looked up was R. J. Tucker. Roby John passed away in 1905 from a heart attack at age 36.

I can make out the name of the man in the top right corner as Thos E Pierce, but cannot make out what his position or title was. This is my great great grandfather who I am researching. Any help would be appreciated!

The first word in his title is "Engineer". I can’t read the second one, but it is a short word.
