This has to be a fairly early photo of the old post office, as the street is still unpaved. This post office was still in use after Odell High School became Mid Valley Jr. High and I went there.
Hildred Rhoades was the post mistress there for many years. Her ancestors were the Crockett’s who came to The Dalles area very early on. Her husband Loyal Rhoades’ mother was of the old pioneer Kemp family of the area.
