This is sort of a repeat of a 2020 post, but it’s a better scan and we now have the IDs of the woman which a reader added year after the initial post. This is the Odell High School basketball team from April of 1924. That’s Olga Plog to the right.

I found the girls team of 1923, with some of the same girls, my grandmother included. In comparison that my picture, this picture appears to be of: Dorothy Pemberton, Mary Shute (my grandmother), possibly Francis Fletcher, possibly Emily Fletcher, Vienna Annala, and possibly Lela Barrie. They wore the same uniforms in 1923 as they did in this and the “pyramid” picture in the another post under Odell high school. I’ll try to submit my picture with my grandmother’s handwriting on the back.
I’ll use this as a teaser that pretty soon we’ll have a new version of this website up, which will hopefully make it easier for you to see comments people add days or years after the initial post. More on that later!

our mother Lois Emily Sheirbon played ball at OHS, Roger will know the years. I have always wondered why girls sports went away and had to be forced back.

This was the era of women’s six on six basketball, so this entire team would have been on the court for the entire game.
