This Frank Patterson stereoview of Oak Street was taken in the first decade of the twentieth century. The Paris Fair has moved into its brick building, and the Fashion Livery has taken its place at the east end of Oak Street, but Hood River is still a bucolic burg where a few trees in the middle of the main street are not a problem.

I can just imagine that street after a rain down pour. Not to mention after an ice storm. Hopefully most people kept their teams and wagons safely at home.

Yes, that on the right of the photo would be where the library lawn is now. Down at the Char Burger, I believe it is, there is a photo of this same scene taken a little further up the hill, so you see the trees on the left right in the middle of the street. You can pretty well see where the pattern of traffic divides and goes around that tree.
