Historic Hood River
Oak Street 1954

Notes
This fine view of a snowy downtown Hood River dates to 1954. The Hood River News was where Dog River Coffee now resides. There’s a great view of the art deco storefront to the Paris Fair.

Oh Yuk! I am not ready for this.

My first car was a 1954 Chevy.

A ’54 Chevy for me too L.E. Moon hubcaps, glas-pak pipes and life was good. Had $500 credit for gas at Kramer’s Texaco from working in the woods before I was old enough for them to pay me, and I was off and running.

Check out that Studebaker!

In 1954, this would have been a picture of my front yard. I was living in old Bartmess Building right next to the Paris Faire.
