Historic Hood River
Oak Leaf Lodge
12-19-2019

Notes
This home is identified as the “Rohrbaugh Residence” at 204 Prospect Avenue. It looks very much like this now, despite what you may see below. As of this date the street view is from 2012. The yard has been completely redone so you can see the house again.
Nellie
This would have been the home of Edwin Peter Rohrbaugh who was a medical doctor. He was a native of Youk County, Pa. He had gone with his parents to Wyoming. His wife was Ella Jane Hengst.
His wife Ella was a sister to Ida (Hengst) Perry, who was the wife of William Perry who lived on Fir Mountain Road.

Oak Leaf Lodge? Was is a place to get a room, or just the name of their home?
ArthurB
My guess is it was just the name of their home. It doesn’t seem to be set up with guest rooms.
Charlott
It was just the name of their home.

Isn’t this Evelyn Kresse’s home and later Mrs. Brownell’s, who taughtmpiano lessons? There wewe two huge shrubs on the entrance, so wen never really saw the front ofnnthe place. Seems as if the address would have bee in the 300s, though, if it was 9n the west side of Second Street.
