Unfortunately we don’t know who this couple is, but no one can prove me wrong if I say they are newlyweds embarking on a honeymoon. The fine glass work on the train car makes me think these are the first class accommodations. I enjoy how in old movies there’s always time for a poignant moment on the steps to the rail car as the train starts to pull away from the station. Try doing this in the doorway to a jet!

This is definitely not some "poor country farmer" and his new bride. Too well dressed for that. Look at her handbag closely, that is quality and definitely quality kid gloves.
Look at that lovely train window.
Here again is a good lesson…..always when you take photos put on the back who they are of, place and dates. Maybe you don’t particularly case, but maybe a 100 years from now someone might gain some family or local knowledge from them.

GREAT picture. Yes, they are dressed to the "nines" but that fellows shirt doesn’t fit very well…makes one wonder if this isn’t new finery just purchased for the trip………….

Since this photo is in the Davidson collection, could this be Helen Julia Davidson, the daughter of Horatio, and her new husband John Cooper?
They were married in 1920 in HR and lived in Boise.
B. Copper
It would be great if this couple were my grandparents, Helen and John Copper, however this couple is definitely not them. Numerous family pictures confirms this. H.F. and May Davidson had relatives and many friends in Hood River and the valley, so this could be anybody. Wish we confirm who.
As a point of clarification, there was a minor error in the history book The History of Oregon (Charles Henry Carey, The Pioneer Historical Publishing Co., Chicago-Portland, 1922 Volume III, pages 448-9). My grandfather’s name was John Harris Copper, not John C Cooper.
