Notes
Here’s a reminder that things are always changing. The “New Yasui Building” was built just 10 years ago, as this January 2005 image proves. Holsteins is no longer there, though you can still get coffee at the same spot.
Alert HHR readers will note this is a storied corner. You’ve seen the old post office building which eventually served as the Yasui store and you’ve seen Cuddleford’s blacksmith shop which is now the Kayak Shed. And of course there was this great photo of the same corner in 1917.

I thought HHR had featured a photo of the original Yasui store, but I did a quick "browse" and didn’t find one.
Probably a pretty important part of that corner history.

Great to have three photos of the same corner, Yasui store, the PO and the blacksmith shop.
Many times on this site I think "things can’t get much better than this", wrong, you continue to amaze me.

So what would have been on that site the previous year? Was the old Yasui store building still there in the early 2000’s?

Before the current Yasui Building, there was a parking lot there for many years.

You are right Charlotte. It was Kramer’s Texaco Station.

Kramer’s was one of the teen age boys hang out when I was in high school.

The white building just past the one being built was also a Yasui Building originally.
