It looks like the Hood River Fire Department volunteers in this image are showing off a new ambulance. This is a Joe Young photograph from the late 1940s or early 1950s.. Can anyone identify these men?
That ambulance is definitely making a statement.

I have in my possession a copy of the Hood River Elks Lodge monthly newsletter, the “Elkleaf”. It contains an article describing how the Lodge had raised $6485 which was donated to the city for the purchase of a combination ambulance and first aid car. The ambulance was to be “mounted on a Cadillac chassis and the body is built by Superior Coach of Lima, Ohio…capable of handling four patients when required”. Notice the word “Superior” on the fender.
