Notes

The tow operator and the fire department had to respond in the middle of the night when a tanker truck jackknifed, and Joe Young was there to document it. We saw the accident here.

In the earlier image link, there is some speculation on the weather conditions at the time of the accident. Based on the tow truck being chained up and no significant snow in either photo, I would guess it must have been an ice storm.

Remember Murray's Auto wreckers? Cascade ave. close to where Safeway now sits….Frank Wimmers the last owner finally sold, early-mid 80's? It was cleared out for development, like fast food and grocery…..

I don't know if Frank had a piece of Murray Auto, bur Perry Wimmers ran it. I went down there often to run the lathe when Perry had it and when Eskew “Skeeter” Davis had it before Perry. That wrecking/salvage yard was God's gift to teenagers trying to keep a junker car on the road.
