Here’s a fine image of A. I. Mason hauling fire wood. He’s captioned it “My Oregon Beast”. It’s dated 1905, which would place it in the Liberty Home Orchard (Pine Grove) days.

The term “work horse” fits this photo.
Any idea how old the fruit trees in the background might be?
I can’t tell from this article if Mrs. Mason supervised the planting of their orchard after 1896. I guess if they were planted about 1900, they could be this tall by 1905.
