Notes
I’m sure some of you will recognize this Alva Day image of two men having fun trying to free a Model T from the mud. Now we have a print made from this negative which includes some more information. It indicates the image was taken in 1919, the truck is a PP&L vehicle and the men are Alva Day himself and Lee Penners. Dennis Day tells me he doesn’t think the man on the front is actually Alva. It’s possible Alva was the photographer and the note is in error, but I suspect most of the note is correct.

Fun putting on those tire chains in the mud, even more fun taking them off covered with mud ( been there, done that )

To me, putting on chains to get through mud is equivalent to driving a four wheeled rig as opposed to a two wheel drive rig. You can make it about another 50 ft. before you are really buried.

Should be able to locate this photo within a few feet. Got a good view of the mountains in the background and a fence line that likely runs along a survey line.
Are the two really trying to lift the car or are they just trying to make it look like they are pushing against each other?
