That’s Postmistress Lenora Hunter in front of the Mosier Valley Post Office. Notes indicate it had moved into this bank building. We met Lenora Hunter in this interior image. This building still serves as the post office.

Yep, nothing has changed much with that scene. Reckon this dates to the 20s?

The P.O., the new prideful park along the highway, and the now open grocery mart defines Mosier, along with the Sunday organic market, the ladies selling cherries at the Grange, and the Route 30 ice cream shop adorn that proudful little town.

“MOSIER, Or., July 4. — (Special.) — Organization of the Mosier Valley Bank has been completed and the institution will be open for business Tuesday, July 6. The temporary quarters of the bank will be in a store which has been vacated for the purpose, and fixtures and a burglar-proof safe are now being installed.” [“Morning Oregonian”, July 6, 1909, courtesy Historic Oregon Newspapers Archives, University of Oregon
Another source said that the bank had moved into “a stately brick building” in 1914 and from “Columbia river Images: a Photographic Journey” comes the information that “The Mosier Post Office was established in 1884. It first occupied a small building near the railroad depot until it bounced from home to home. In 1929 it moved to its current location, a building which was once Mosier’s bank building.”
