Notes indicate this nice cabinet card of the Peter Mohr family was taken at the Dalles in 1891. Family members listed are Peter Mohr Sr., Mrs. Mohr, John Mohr, Peter Mohr, Josie Mohr Baker, Alphonse Mohr, and Marie Mohr Dresser. We saw this image of the family at their home in an earlier post. That post includes many interesting notes from descendants.
I suspect the 1880 date for the image of the family at their first homestead is in error. The house may have been built in 1880, but Mohr didn’t arrive in Hood River until 1881, and the family are all older in that image than they are in this 1891 image. The 1891 date for this image seems to match the birth dates of the children.

Looks like Peter Mohr–I assume junior is the eldest son–is sporting a prize ribbon of some kind. Or was that a birthday thing back then?

I wonder if the “city” home Mr. Mohr built in his evening time of life is the beautiful house on 3rd Street between May and June streets, abutting Wilson Park on the North side of the property. I went to elementary school with Joe Mohr who, if I’m not mistaken, lived in that house.

The eldest son in the back, I can’t see if he is standing on something or not, but if he isn’t and is standing flat on the floor, then he has unusually long legs.
