Charles Metsker started making maps of the Pacific Northwest in 1901. This page from his 1931 atlas of Hood River County shows his skill as a mapmaker. This view of the Parkdale area shows not only all the roads, rivers, and geological features, it includes property ownership. Because of this detail these maps are a valuable resource for people researching the history of their property or family farms.
