Georgiana “Pansy” DeWitt captioned this image “Me and my Hudson.” I think it may be the same Hudson automobile we saw in this post. It’s a good match for the 1918 Hudson Super 6 Touring Car. If the “circa 1918” date is correct, she was definitely ahead of the curve in fashion.
The house in the background might be key to establishing the date, but I can’t make a positive ID. The DeWitts built the house at 916 Cascade in 1922, but they also lived at 912 State Street, and on 9th Street between Oak and State. Of course, she could have been parked in front of any random house in town.
In researching this I discovered Harry DeWitt’s last job, in 1959, was as a toll collector on the Hood River White Salmon Bridge.

The house looks like it matches the roof line of 904 State Street, shown in an earlier image. It was next door to their house at 912 State Street, where I also used to live.

I think Pansy would have been an interesting person to know. Adventuresome, yet fashionable.
