Notes
Lost Lake has long been a popular fishing spot for Hood River residents, so it’s a good place to end our week of “fishing with Alva Day.” Alva and his companions are enjoying a lazy June day on the lake in 1928. I hope his efforts at fish stocking paid off.

This picture again reminds me of the story from my grandfather John H. who as county judge wouldn’t allow paving of the road into Lost Lake in the fear of the hoards of "outsiders" ruining the lake. It just doesn’t get better than this setting!

When my father visited from Ohio a many year ago his remark, when we went to Lost Lake on some paved roads and seeing all the people at the lake…"Doesn’t look like LOST LAKE is LOST anymore"
