Historic Hood River
Loop Highway at East Fork
6-18-2013

Notes
Anyone who’s driven up Highway 35 will instantly recognize this spot, even though highway engineers have dramatically altered this landscape. Between rockfall and high river levels, this stretch of road is a perennial nightmare for ODOT. Here’s my best guess as to the location. Photo is credited to W.F. Laraway.

It is just past the old Polallie Camp Ground going towards Government Camp, but before you get to Sherwood Camp Ground. This section of the highway has been washed out numerous times over the years. I call it "The Chute".

That looks like a washout waiting to happen.
Great shot of "today’s view".
