Historic Hood River
Little Kate

Notes
“Little Kate” is working hard to transport these logs to the Oregon Lumber Company Mill. According to notes this is in the “Mt. Hood Railroad Linear District.” I’m sure someone will explain what that means.

This is an interesting document to read. Explains a lot of history about the Mt. Hood Railroad Linear District.
Buzz
Would guess large standing tree in background was a spar tree at this landing site and "Little Kate" was used to shuttle cars to a side spur line where regular log train was made up for a trip to the mill. Never saw a fat man working with a peavy.

Sounds like the Linear District was simply the Mt Hood Railroad line.
