Notes
We met the Lindsay family earlier this year and received quite a bit of good background in this post. I can’t resist a good interior view, probably taken at their Oak Grove home. Even a special event like this tends to humanize a dusty old photograph.
The stern looking man overseeing this celebration must be Robert Lindsay, with Caroline Lindsay seated in the back to the right. We have the same three adult daughters as the earlier image. I’m not sure if those are their spouses or brothers on the other side of the table. It’s a bit dificult to line up all the ages of the children and grandchildren from the “Find a Grave” database.
I’m not sure what to make of the inverted flag either.

Lindsey Creek, (sometimes in old newspapers spelled Lindsay) is a creek east of Cascade Locks and west of Shell Rock Mtn.
I couldn’t find a reference for the name of the creek. Andrew and Tiney Lindsay, and Voyl Lindsay, (sometimes spelled Lindsey in old census records) lived at Wind Mtn. and Cascade Locks. They were involved with lumber and sawmills.
There evidently was a community called Lindsay.
I don’t know if there is a connection to the family.
