I look at the foundations and imagine what a joyful place it must have been and what I missed. I assume it was open and active until Bonneville.

Pavilion was gone by the late 50’s when I spent a lot of summer days there. Still, some of my best memories of those years are of time spent with lifelong friends swimming, waterskiing, and enjoying being a teenager.

It seems to me sometime 1957 or 1958 I found myself peering out at the lake from one of the second story openings. In later years, when visiting Hood River. Is it possible in the time frame given?

I graduated from Wy’east in 1956 and at that time there was still some of the Pavilion there. I remember walking through it, seeing a stage and wishing I could have seen it when it was still in use. Believe water backing up from the Bonneville Dam was what did in the Pavilion.

Hood River Glacier, 1925-03-12, page 11 – Koberg will improve his beach. He had recently purchased the shoreland and planned to build a pavilion.

Hood River Glacier, 1925-08-13, page 1 – Koberg’s beach has been the most popular place in Hood River county this past week. Slides have been constructed and hundreds have secured a thrill from a trip down the long “shoot the chutes” built by Mr. Koberg. The long chute can be seen at the left side of this postcard.
