This image offers a good perspective of how the Jaymar Mill was situated relative to “The Hook”, the final part of the 1960s landfill project down at the Port of Hood River.  If you go down there today you can still see many pilings in the river left from that mill.  Our best information is that the mill closed in 1954.  This image is undated but it is part of a grouping which includes many images from the time of the Vanport flood (May 1948).
