You can forgive W. F. Laraway for not meeting his usual photographic standards given the circumstances. It looks like most of Glenwood, Iowa is under water but that man needs to get to the barn while his wife watches from a higher vantage point.

To confuse matters a but more, there appears to be a light double exposure for part of the negative, which explains the structures and power poles which are out of scale with the rest of the image. I can make out the word “Glenwood” on what may be the rail depot.

    Good thought to put the barrels on the roof. Almost as if this has happened before. Love the fact that Ma chose to make Pa's foray out into a spectator moment.

    I assume this is Missouri River floodwaters.
    Perhaps the hills in the background are the Loess Hills.
