Historic Hood River
House Fire
7-22-2019

Notes
There are a few things you don’t see much of today in this Joe Young photo, circa 1950. House fires are much less common due to better building codes. We don’t see many small houses. Neighborhood kids don’t have bicycles permanently attached to their legs. And I suspect that’s a short wave radio antenna.
I can read the number “1111” on the house, though I don’t know the street. Perhaps the house or garage are still around?

Oh yes, and there is the dog…..

I think I remember this house fire… I recognize my good friend’s trailer which was located on her Grandparents property on 7th street off of May street going south. I lived on 8th Street off of May Street. My house & neighbor’s house were torn down & now 1 house resides there.
