Historic Hood River
Hood River Moorage
8-30-2017

Notes
After Lake Bonneville covered the Hood River delta, there was a short spit of land created from fill roughly north of exit 63. This marina was eventually sheltered by Nichols Basin (“Hood River Harbor”) when it was constructed in 1962.

Does look chilly, doesn’t it.
I think what I noticed first was the lack of the houses over there on the Washington side, where now they are just side by side all the way along there.

I do not look forward to this kind of winter weather. His feet are cold, his hands are cold, his nose is frozen and probably his car is stuck.
However, I guess the snow does replenish water for the wells used by the many houses that now line the bluff. As Charlott says, they are side by side and more in the building process.

Wasn’t this piece of fill known as "the mole" in the 1950’s?
