Historic Hood River
Happy Thanksgiving
11-26-2014

Notes
In 1943, Hood River County and Columbia County engaged in a little friendly competition to see who could raise more funds in bond sales to support the war effort. Hood River apparently put up local apples against Columbia County’s turkeys. The men are identified, left to right, as Irving S. Rau (Chairman for Columbia County War Finance Committee), Judge C. D. Nickelsen (Chairman for Hood River County Third War Loan), and W. S. Finney (Chairman Hood River County War Finance Committee).
Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at the History Museum. Historic Hood River will be back next Monday.

Wow, look at the feet on that bird.
Sorry we will be out of photos until Monday.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I believe it was W. S. Finney’s wife who was the principal of Park Street School in 1949 when I was in the 3rd Grade.
