Historic Hood River
“Grandma and Grandpa Copper’s House”
12-14-2022

Notes
This relatively recent image from the Davidson-Copper collection is captioned “Grandma and Grandpa Copper’s House, Hood River”. As you can see, the homesite on West Cascade has now been cleared. I think there has been a “For Sale” sign there for a long time.
If I have the genealogy correct, Horatio Davidson’s daughter Julia Helen Davidson married John Copper. I suspect they are “Grandma and Grandpa Copper.”

Mitch Laney lived there, I think he had a service station to the east at one time

I wonder if this might be the home of John W and Joann Copper. Parents of the John H Copper who married Helen Julia Davidson. In 1910, John W and family were living on Cascade. He worked for the railroad. He died in 1930. His wife later moved to Portland and passed in 1943.
John H. married Helen Davidson in 1920. I am not sure they ever lived in Hood River. I think they lived in Idaho and eastern Oregon and as Helen's obituary says, they moved to Portland.
