That’s Ellwood (“Tweet”) Samuel and Dave Falconer on Glisan Glacier in a photo by Bill Bryan taken on September 5, 1965. Glisan Glacier is on the northwest side of Mt. Hood. It would be interesting to see a photograph of this same glacier 60 years later.

That’s probably the same weekend the two were photographed sitting by the front door at Cloud Cap-that you posted last week.

Sadly, wikipedia says the Glisan Glacier no longer exists–at least not a true glacier anymore. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glisan_Glacier
On the other hand, here’s a great photo-blog from 2019 showing the Glisan Glacier area plus other historical tides-bits and tie-ins. For example, now I know how Cathedral Ridge winery got its name.
