This charming Laraway plate is from his time in Glenwood, Iowa before the family relocated to Hood River (about 1904). I think that is W. F. Laraway’s son Thurston being pulled by his much older brother Percy. The wagon, wooden horses and broken umbrella as a parasol make a great composition.
You can read a good biography of Laraway here. I didn’t realize his life was shortened by an automobile accident. I’ll also include this link to The Hood River Glacier article they mention which describes his arrival here in 1904 (bottom of column 2).
