Alva Day photographed the aftermath of a fire along the West Fork of the Hood River in 1932. From the regrowth it looks like the fire was 5-10 years earlier.

Appears to be looking north with a bit of the Columbia showing, any idea of the exact location from which this was taken?

Were they replanting in the 1930’s? Up close on the the hillside looks like re-prod.
The snags don’t appear to be very large trees.

My Dad, C.M. Sheppard, told me of a "Cascade burn." It burned over a tremendous area west of Wahtum Lake as I recall. Could this be in the Benson Plateau area? Does anyone use that area name anymore? I’ve never gone into that area; this is just a long shot.
