Historic Hood River
Ford Garage, 1919

Notes
This interior view of the Dewitt Motors Company garage at 3rd and Cascade is labelled “Ford Garage.” We’ve seen several views of this building before. Think about this previous life to this building next time you visit the Columbia Center For the Arts.

No doubt this is the bookkeeper. Wonder if this is Pansy
l.e.
Looks like the same dress and hairstyle as in photo #278.
And the same pair of glasses.
But the Columbia Arts Center is a few blocks from where the previous photo was taken.

I suspect the notes on this collection of prints were written by Pansy Dewitt herself, which brings up an interesting point. People rarely identify themselves in photo notes, as they know they won’t forget what they look like. While contemporaneous IDs are the most reliable, they are also frequently cryptic, like "me and Sis at the cabin" This leaves you examining the whole collection to try to piece together who is "me" and who is "Sis" and where the cabin might be.

Very funny Scott– I’m rebuilding my spam protections now after making some adjustments for those of you who were being blocked from comment. A few more spam comments will slip in, but they all get removed quickly. Believe it or not I frequently get over 1000 a day caught by the filter, and only a handful make it through.
