This view of a Native fishing platform is from the Earl Conser album. As a reminder, Conser was a young man working as an engineer on the reconstruction of parts of the OR&N Company rail near Hood River and Mosier circa 1902. While most of our fishing platform images show Celilo Falls, the forest in the background leads me to think this image is actually in the Cascade Locks area.

Lewis & Clark came through this area around April 10th 1806, on their return east.
A comment is made that most of the mens feet are
sore from portaging over sharp rocks.
