Notes
I like the caption to this photo: “Glenn B. Marsh. His first wife. His first son (Bob). His first car.”
This link suggests Mrs. Marsh is Donna Elizabeth Ward Marsh. But that doesn’t explain the reference to “Bob” as it appears their children were Glenn W. and Charles. The auto is a Model T roadster with an aftermarket pickup box. My experts tell me this may be a 1918, which doesn’t quite match the 1921 date for Glenn Junior to be an infant. I’m sure a little research will clear up whether there was a Mrs. Marsh before Donna Elizabeth Ward, or if the info on the back of the photo is incorrect.

Well, I trust Charlott will be able to fill us in with some information, but I did find this in the 1930 Census:
Glenn B Marsh age 50
Donna E Marsh age 43
Robert W Marsh age 11
Glenn W Marsh age 8
Charles D Marsh age 2
They live on a fruit farm on Center, Hood River
Both Glenn and Donna are from New York.
On the 1920 Census, Robert is listed as age 0.
They live at Center Brookside Drive.

The 1920 Census was taken January 2, 1920 and Robert Ward Marsh is 11 months old.

Yes, there was another Mrs. Glen Bartol Marsh, but that was after the first, Donna Elizabeth Ward died in Hood River in 1951. He then married Lavina R. Frazier in 1954.
Bob was born on 14 January 1919 and died in Tillamook in 1988. So this would be Bob in the photo with his mother Donna.
Both Glenn Jr. and Don were Crag Rats.
Norma
Lavina Frazier was my grandmother’s sister.

Thanks, that all fits together now. The Model T guys were examining details like the horn switch to date the car to 1918 or so.

Arthur, I don’t know if this tells you anything, but in May 1919 Glenn B Marsh of Route 2, Hood River registered a Ford-2996815-19-rn

That would be the serial number of a Model T which came off the assembly line late March 1919.. Another piece of the puzzle falls into place.

Robert Ward Marsh , b. 14 Jan 1919 Hood River, Hood River, Oregon, d. 2 Feb 1988 Manzanita, Tillamook, Oregon.

The 1920 census asked for the person’s age as of 1 Jan 1920, so Robert Ward Marsh was listed correctly as age 0, even though he was almost 1 year old.
